Were you here 30 years ago when the original playground was installed?

We invite you to a homecoming celebration, as we are taking steps to extend the life of this beloved regional playground. Through the introduction of state-of-the-art equipment, we aim to breathe new life into this cherished space. The upgrade will ensure 50 more years of joy and excitement!

Inclusivity will be a top priority where children of all abilities can unite in laughter and exploration.

We've partnered with Leathers & Associates, a company that has broken the mold of traditional playgrounds for nearly half a century.

By following their motto of "DREAM.BUILD.PLAY", they've successfully completed more than 3,300 playgrounds! With their knowledge and expertise combined with our drive to give back to the community that we love, we've created a plan that will not only bring nostalgia to those that were there when the playground was originally finished 30 years ago, but to also give the new generation a fun and safe space to be a kid.

The playground at The Rec is still a place for making friends and sharing laughs! This well-loved space has stood the test of time and served its purpose, but the safety of our guests and members is our top priority. We hope to provide a space much like the current one, but built with strong material that's made to last generations.

Leathers & Associates is a family-owned construction company that's been creating beloved playgrounds like ours for many years. Their designs are built around the ideas of children and the needs of their clients. We want to make dreams a reality by bringing back the same style of the playground we know and love, but with a modern and sustainable twist!

How can I help?

To reach our goal, we're offering the community a chance to buy a custom fence picket! Like those at the current playground, these pickets will serve as unique way to show off your support for this project, and also add a extra level of security for our children!

Dimensions: 1 x 3.5 x 57 inches
Character Limit: 22 Characters Maximum
Colors: Standard cedar coating with a dark green core

*Pickets will be made to order, so ensure that you share what represents YOU!

We offer tiered donation levels and Equipment Naming Recognition and Rights, but any and all donations are welcome and greatly appreciated!

Tiered Donations:

Bronze - Your business name, group name, or personal name displayed on a recognition sign at the playground
Silver - Bronze level benefits plus recognition on the Coomes Center Website
Gold - Both Bronze and Silver level benefits plus social media recognition
