🍎 Afterschool Registration is Now Open!
Our Afterschool Program is designed for children ages 5–12 and provides a fun, active, and supervised environment from the time buses arrive at the Coomes Recreation Center until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Daily bus service from Abingdon Elementary, Greendale Elementary, Watauga Elementary, and E.B. Stanley Middle School brings participating students directly to our facility.
To begin the enrollment process, please register through the Playground app using the link below:

You can also access the application link by going to www.coomescenter.com, hover over the amenities tab, click childcare, and then click the Afterschool application link.
During the application process, you will be asked to complete an application and upload your child's birth certificate and current immunization records. ***Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee a spot in the program.*** Your child is not officially enrolled until you receive a confirmation email stating that your application has been approved.
Before your child can be approved, please contact our front desk to ensure your child has a profile in our Sportsman system and that a credit or debit card is on file for monthly Afterschool payments. Your card will not be charged until your child's application has been approved. Once enrolled, tuition is billed at the end of each month for the following month's care.
Monthly tuition varies based on the Washington County Public Schools calendar, but the maximum monthly cost is $175 for members and $200 for non-members.
Children should bring a snack each day, wear appropriate athletic shoes for gym activities, and bring swimwear and a towel on designated swim days. We look forward to providing your child with a safe, engaging, and fun place to spend their afternoons!

Washington County Public Schools start back up on Friday, August 7! We will be kicking that week off on Monday and Tuesday with Day Camp!
Come join us for some final summer fun! Activities include the outdoor pool, playground, concessions, and much more! Please bring swim gear, two snacks, and a lunch. Care will be from 7:30-5:30 on Monday, August 3, and Tuesday, August 4.

Join us for a Community Workshop and Public Forum, as we continue the feasibility study for a potential senior center expansion at the Coomes Center.
This interactive, discussion-based event will provide an opportunity to learn more about the proposed plans, explore visual planning tools, and share your thoughts on the future of this project. We'll discuss the survey questions in greater detail, provide updates on the feasibility study, and gather feedback through an open community discussion.
A representative from Power Wellness, who is assisting with the feasibility study, will be on hand to answer questions, facilitate discussion, and share their experience working with similar projects in other communities.
